I'm currently obsessed with the missing child story from Birmingham, Alabama. I've read a few theories, seen the interviews, and watched as thousands have joined in the search for the three year old girl. My heart is hurting for this precious child. No matter what people think about the parents or the situation, Kamille "Cupcake" Mckinney still needs to be found.
There is often a lot of temptation to go down rabbit holes on social media and jump in on public opinions. While it's perfectly ok to have an opinion, trolling countless threads of arguments can consume a lot of your time and distract from the original problem. A little girl is still missing. I researched how I could help, and this is what I found.
The police are asking for any information, videos, and pictures from the night in question. They are asking the public to be on the lookout for the child, even in other states. They've asked for us to make businesses aware of the missing toddler by posting flyers, and emailing the flyer to post in their area. This I can do.
Churches, individuals and organizations have assisted the search teams with water and food. They received ponchos from local politicians and businesses to wear in the rain. They've requested more flashlights and batteries. If you can get that to them, I'm sure it would be appreciated.
Also, you can pray without ceasing. I believe in the power of prayer. I also believe that man sometimes makes poor choices that have consequences. My prayer is that whoever has this child will feel the urge to do the right thing. The one thing that is universally agreed upon is that Cupcake is the innocent victim. She needs to be found. Whatever happens after that can be sorted out by the authorities.
