I Never Would've Believed It....

My house has been practicing social distancing for two weeks. We've been taking the advice of the powers that be and only gone out for necessities. Except for the occasional take out from local restaurants' curb-side service, meals have fallen upon me. Luckily, I love to cook! I cannot imagine how stressful it would be if I didn't. I used a new toy Momma gave us last night. It shocked me to my core!

This bad boy promised to cook a pot roast perfectly in 30 minutes. I had my doubts, but decided to give it a try. I followed the directions to a tee. I added the onions, garlic, potatoes, and carrots at the precise time it suggested. I locked the lid and waited. It made some weird noises and began its countdown. I gave it a scowl and walked away.

I've never cooked a roast in under 3 hours. I'm a low and slow kind of girl when it comes to things like that. I'll admit, I was quite skeptical. Hub even called me out on it, as he was thrilled at the thought of having a roast in half an hour. I giggled at his optimism, praying it would work and save him loads of disappointment. He was like a kid waiting for his birthday cake. Failure was not an option, and I began formulating a Plan B just in case. If we had to eat at 10pm, so be it. He was going to have his roast.

The timer went off and we looked at each other nervously. He had a devilish gleam in his eyes as he walked over to our new gadget. He pushed the cancel button and steam began shooting out of a valve on the lid. We waited for that to finish before taking off the top per the instructions. Then it was the moment of truth. He unlocked the lid, pulled it off, and peered inside.

Shazaam! This fabulous little appliance cooked that roast and the vegetables to perfection! I couldn't believe it. It was a total game changer. My new best friend will be sitting front and center on my countertop from now on. Move over crock pot, there's a new sheriff in town! I looked through the recipe book that came with this miracle worker and found that it can cook almost anything. Holy cow, where has this been all my life?

There were additional bonuses. It was easy to clean, and the house smelled like I'd been slaving in the kitchen all day. Happy, happy, joy, JOY! To say I was thrilled would be an understatement. This contraption makes you look so good, even if you don't know how to cook. If you can cut up veggies, season meat, and dump them in, you can produce a delicious meal and take all the credit. Of course, we took some to Momma. She gave us this genius device after all. Her dropped off dinner was extra good last night!

I cannot recommend this Quick Cooker enough. Put this on your list as a must have. Add it to your birthday, anniversary, or Christmas list. Do whatever you can to get it into your life. Here's the link to the one I have. Walmart has free shipping on $35 and over, that's always nice. You can thank me later.
